LAURENCE A. BLAU specializes in Estate Planning, Trust Administration and Probate Administration.

Mr. Blau was born and raised in San Francisco and has been practicing law in San Francisco since 1991. He graduated with distinction in his major from the University of California, Santa Barbara, received his law degree (J.D.) from the University of San Francisco School of Law and his LL.M in taxation from the University of Florida College of Law.

The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization has certified Mr. Blau as a legal specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law.

He is the past chairman of the San Francisco Chapter of the Young Tax Lawyers Association. He was on the American Bar Association task force for Tax Simplification. He has published various articles, including co-authoring an article in the California Tax Lawyer on the Effect of Tax Changes on Subchapter S Corporations; and a book entitled “Fundamentals of California Estate Planning and Estate Administration”. He is a regular panelist for the Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) program, National Business Institute – Continuing Legal Education (NBI-CLE), and IPE, conducting seminars throughout the state on various estate planning topics. He also speaks at local bar association’s section meetings, including the Eleventh Annual Contra Costa County Bar Association’s Estate Planning Symposium.

Mr. Blau is an adjunct professor of law at the University of San Francisco School of Law and UC Hastings College of Law. He has also taught an estate planning class at San Francisco Law School and San Francisco City College . He is the past president of the Concordia-Argonaut Club, a 155-year-old social club in San Francisco.
